We can’t wait to start making our own Easter Eggs -and this video from allrecipes.co.uk shows just how simple it is.

You will need:

  • Easter egg moulds
  • 500g milk or plain chocolate
  • One bar of white chocolate (optional but very tasty and great for the marbled effect)

How to make a milk / plain chocolate egg:

1. Melt 375g of the plain or milk chocolate on low heat – stirring constantly to ensure smoothness until melted

2. Take off heat and add remaining milk or plain chocolate to temper and stir until mixture is smooth (tempering just give your eggs a professional, shiny look)

3. Once smooth, brush on a layer of chocolate into the moulds and chill in the fridge for 10 minutes

4. Brush on another layer and chill again for 10 minutes

5. Brush on final layer and chill again for 10 minutes

6. Unmould eggs

How to make a marbled egg:

1. Drizzle white chocolate over mould and chill in the fridge for 5 minutes

2. Drizzle plain or milk chocolate and brush it in to cover the mould – chill in the fridge for 10 minutes

3. Repeat step 2 three times

How to stick your egg together:

1. Ensure the edges are smooth

2. Brush on melted chocolate around the edges and stick the two halves together

3. Once stuck, place back in mould in chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes
