Hull Truck Theatre’s Engagement and Learning department are running a series of Easter Holiday workshops for children and young people to get hands on backstage experience, learn new theatre skills and perform in their own show.

Tom Bellerby, Youth Theatre Director at Hull Truck, said,

“Our Easter activities are an opportunity to experience all the excitement of making theatre – in one day! I’m particularly looking forward to the “Get a Grip on Theatre” day which is a new project for us and gives young people a rare chance to be part of the important work that goes on behind the scenes of a performance.”

They are running from Monday 30 March until Thursday 2 April.

Have you always wanted to know what happens behind the scenes at the theatre? Backstage enthusiasts aged 14+ are invited to work with Hull Truck Theatre’s technical theatre staff to find out more about how things are done behind the scenes. They’ll learn new skills in sound, lighting and stage management before putting their skills into practise by working alongside Hull Truck Theatre’s professional team, becoming technical operators for one of the A Play in a Day events on either Tuesday 30 March, Wednesday 1 April or Thursday 2 April.
