Hull residents and tourists can have their say this weekend on the redevelopment of three leading city venues.

Plans are going on public view this week relating to Woodford Leisure Centre, Hull New Theatre and Ferens Art Gallery.

All three landmarks are exhibiting the plans, while a special culture bus is being moored in the city centre’s Queen Victoria Square on Saturday (June 27) between 10am and 4pm.

The previews will give attendees an idea of what the venues will look like in future.

Last month it was announced that the Ferens would stage the Turner Prize in 2017. To prepare for this, the art gallery is upgrading its temperature and lighting control systems as well as unveiling an environmentally-controlled lobby and new café.

The theatre, meanwhile, will offer fresh break out and café bar areas and expand backstage provision to accommodate larger, more ambitious productions.

The leisure centre’s extension will see a 25m six-lane swimming pool, new learner pool, steam and sauna facilities as well as an entrance-stationed café.
