Hull Truck Theatre will be presenting a showcase of exciting new performance work from practitioners connected to Hull.

The showcase is part of Hull Truck Theatre’s ongoing commitment to championing artists in the East Yorkshire region, especially in the lead up to Hull City of Culture 2017.

The showcase follows Hull Truck Theatre’s Grow Festival, a week of artist development workshops and sessions designed to nurture people and ideas. Many of the artists participated in Grow Festival workshops last year, proving that investment and support are vital for the future of theatre.

Mark Babych, Artistic Director of Hull Truck Theatre said:

“Theatre can completely change your perception of something, and that often comes from artists making vibrant new performance work. It’s so important for theatres to showcase new writing from theatre makers who are shaking things up and presenting original ideas.”

Performances in the showcase include a black comedy about a pub quiz team who launch a casino heist, an examination of how the police are perceived by the general public, and a tribute to Charlie Chaplin.
