KC is supporting the Hull and East Riding Disability Sports Awards in 2015 as an award sponsor for the second consecutive year.

The inaugural awards were held earlier this year, when over 200 people turned out to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of those involved in local disability sport.

KC sponsored the ‘Coach of the Year’ award and will do so again at the 2015 event which is being held at the KC Stadium on Friday 27 February.

Brendon Smurthwaite, KC’s Community Coordinator, said:

“This year’s awards were a real success and everyone who attended seemed to have a great night.

“The disability sport community in Hull is growing all the time and this event helps to recognise the athletes and volunteers who are making that happen.

“We’re delighted to be involved, alongside other local businesses, and are really looking forward to it.”

Hull is one of only three cities in the UK to hold its own Disability Sports Awards. As well as celebrating the achievements of disabled sports athletes, the evening also offers a chance to pay tribute to the unsung heroes who help to make the disability sports community in Hull so strong.

There are 12 awards up for grabs on the night with the winners being selected by the public via an open vote. Voting opens on Friday 24October and closes on Wednesday 31 December.

Nominations can be made by emailing the name, chosen sport/team and contact details of the person you’re nominating to awards@wheelchairsportshull.co.uk.

Don’t forget to include your name and contact details, as well as a brief summary on why you think the person you’re nominating deserves to win that particular award.

Tickets for the event are priced at £30 adults and £22.50 concessions. They’re available via email on wheelsporthull@hotmail.co.uk and also online by clicking here.
