Businessmen and women from across East Yorkshire will be battling for the right to be crowned as the area’s fastest firm when they take part in the KC-sponsored Hull 10K Corporate Challenge on Sunday 14 June.

The challenge, which is part of the popular Asda Foundation Run for All Hull 10K, attracted over 450 employees from local businesses last year.

As well as competing for the title of fastest firm, runners helped to raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

Brendon Smurthwaite, KC’s Community Co-ordinator, said:

“It’s great to be involved in the corporate challenge for a third successive year and it’s very encouraging to see firms already coming forward to snap up a place.

“It brings an added dimension to the event and is a great opportunity for companies to promote team bonding and engage in a bit of friendly rivalry whilst raising money for very worthy causes.”

Charlie Tatman, the event lead for the Hull 10K, said:

“The KC Hull Corporate Challenge is always really-well supported with scores of teams signing up; many of them coming back year after year.

“It’s a great way of instilling a bit of camaraderie and encouraging colleagues to work together both in the workplace and on race day. A big thank you to KC for once again supporting the event. Let’s see if they can take home the honours this year!”

Teams taking part enjoy corporate hospitality on race day and are also invited to a pre-event quiz evening where they can pit their wits against other local businesses.

The challenge is open to teams of five or more. The times of the first three team members home are added together and averaged out, with the quickest team carrying off the prizes and bragging rights.
