A motorist caught doing 121mph on the M62 near Goole – with three children in his car – has been banned from driving.

Adam Evans, 35, was two times over the legal drink-drive limit when he was pulled over by Humberside Police on May 9.

In a hearing at Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty to speeding and driving while over the limit.

He gave a reading of 78 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped on the motorway, the court was told. The legal drink-drive limit is 35 micrograms per 100 ml of breath.

Evans, of Mount Avenue, Hemsworth, West Yorkshire, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £295 in costs. He was also given a 12-month community order and told to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.

Solicitor Neil Davies says his client is “exceptionally remorseful” for the mistake he has made.
