Seven men are due to appear in court next month on fraud-related charges linked to numerous alleged incidents in and around Hull.

The group have all been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud. As many as 16 people from the Hull area are believed to be victims of the alleged crimes.

The men, who all live in either Birmingham or London, have been bailed but are due to appear in front of Hull magistrates three weeks on Thursday (March 24).

The prosecution comes as a result of a partnership between the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Crime Unit and Humberside Police. Both agencies have worked closed by Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) officials.

The men accused include 25-year-old Abu Kaher, from Camden Gardens in London.

Three 24-year-old London-based men also charged are Ruhin Khan, from Cromer Street, Junaid Patwary, from Birkenhead Street, and Ali Nuruddin, from Baldwins Gardens.

Birmingham-based 25-year-olds, Tanvir Ahmed, from Cooksey Road, Abdul Ali, from Bristol Road, and Amanul Islam, from Sunnymead Road, also stand accused.
