A range of special Hull Fair buses are being put on to encourage thrill-seekers from across the city to use public transport rather than causing further congestion around the busy fairground.

Demand for parking around the KC Stadium in particular is expected to rise this weekend as a number of other organised functions take place in parallel with the yearly funfair.

Road closures will also be in effect from the junction of Littlebeck Close to Walton Street until Sunday and on Walliker Street from the Anlaby Road junction to north kerb line of Carnegie Street until 11pm every day that the fair is on.

Granville Street and Arthur Street from the St George’s road junction to Carnegie Street are also closed daily from 6pm to 11pm while the fair is on, as is Anlaby Road.

Meanwhile, the special Hull Fair bus services will help travellers from the north, east and west of the city to get to the Walton Street fairground and back again.

Service 56F will head from ASDA Bilton through Longhill and Holderness Road direct to Hull Fair, while service 55F goes from Hull University and The Avenues.
