Hull safety officials are joining forces to make sure thrill-seekers attending the city’s annual fun fair stay safe – and enjoy themselves.

Humberside Police, Humberside Fire and Rescue, St John’s Ambulance and Hull city council are all working together to make sure that everything will be all right on the night.

They are stressing that children should remain under constant supervision, while all suspicious behaviour should be reported.

Councillor Terry Geraghty said he hoped all visitors would enjoy themselves at the fair, adding that his priority was to make sure that everyone stayed safe.

Hull Fair, one of the biggest of its kind in Europe, is expected to draw in half a million visitors this year, with rides such as the white-knuckle Rock Rage and stalls along Walton Street offering food and games.

It will kick off at 5pm on Friday, October 10, running until Saturday, October 18, opening daily between 2 and 11 pm.
