A primary school in Anlaby has been praised for making a marked improvement in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Springhead Primary School has been rated outstanding in all categories in the inspection report.

Carolyn Jones, the headteacher of the school, which has 208 pupils, said the good report was down to the hard work of students, staff, parents and governors at the school. In its last inspection, the school was rated good .

She said the praise was richly deserved and gave special thanks to the staff and governors, adding the parents were always supportive of school activities.

In his report, Ofsted’s lead inspector Roger Sadler said that the headteacher provided excellent leadership and management and described the teamwork as exceptional.

The report said that the quality of teaching, and consequently the standards of pupils’ work and behaviour, was continuing to improve.
