An East Yorkshire TV presenter has landed a role on a BBC nature programme.

Lindsey Chapman, who went to Beverley High School, will present Winterwatch Unsprung – a spin-off of Winterwatch – alongside Chris Packham.

She made her television debut in 2014, producing and fronting her own outdoor adventure show for CBeebies.

Appearances on Sky Sports, Songs Of Praise and BBC Radio 5 Live have followed since, while she also starred alongside Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall on BBC One’s hit show Big Blue UK last summer, following the various marine animals that call UK waters home.

Lindsey reveals that her love of the countryside and the sea came from growing up in East Yorkshire.

“I love coming home. There’s just so much to see and do,” she says.

“Taking a bracing walk to watch the puffins and gannets at Bempton Cliffs, spotting seals off Spurn Point or just walking through the fields near Beverley, it’s a beautiful part of the world.”

The new series of Winterwatch Unsprung begins on BBC Two on 27 January at 9pm.
