A dog rescue centre in East Yorkshire is urging people to stick the kettle on and raise money for abandoned pups.

, on Bennetland Lane in Gilberdyke, wants residents to take advantage of the warmer weather this May by rounding up family and friends and throwing tea parties in their back gardens.

The charity rescues, cares for and rehomes abandoned canines found on the streets and unwanted pooches whose owners can no longer look after them. Every penny raised will be used to give dogs in need a brighter future.

It aims to find homes for over 800 dogs every year – and is hoping to raise as much money as possible through its ‘Brew Up’ campaign. Just £5 is enough to feed a dog in the rescue centre for an entire week.

Partygoers can get their hands on fundraising packs by calling 01652 650 886 or emailing fundraising@jerrygreendogs.org.uk.
