Work to spruce up several streets popular with tourists in Bridlington will begin later this month and it could last as long as 10 weeks.

The changes to the three routes – Prince Street, Garrison Street and Cliff Street – are part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s ongoing road maintenance programme.

The streets near the town’s promenade will all be resurfaced and have new road markings. The parking bays on the streets will be paved and their ironworks will be replaced.

Workmen will begin the improvements on Monday, January 19, and the work should be done before the start of April, the council says.

The work will take place on weekdays from 8am to 5pm, with traffic using Cliff Street only.

There will be no work at weekends, when the streets, which are home to several seaside businesses, eateries and pubs, tend to be particularly busy throughout the year.
