Bridlington ward candidates announced

The candidates running for election in Bridlington have been announced.

No less than 20 nominees will be battling it out for just eight seats in the coastal town.

Voting in the ward will take place on Thursday 7 May, as will voting in the ‘s other 25 wards, with a grand total of 67 seats up for grabs.

Three UKIP candidates will face strong competition from the Conservative and Labour Parties in each of Bridlington’s three wards.

The Liberal Democrats, on the other hand, have only put forward two candidates – one in Bridlington South Ward and the other in Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward – while there are just two independents in the running

Bridlington South Ward appears to be the most sought after territory, with nine candidates going head-to-head for the seat.

Six candidates are standing for Bridlington North Ward, while five are running for Bridlington Central and Old Town.
