People travelling in East Yorkshire are being warned not to endanger lives by jumping lights at railway crossings.

In the last year there were 108 offences in Hull and the East Riding.

As part of Operation Look, Inspector Pete Kooper from the British Transport Police, says it isn’t worth it.

“Unfortunately, motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and scooters will often try and save time by contravening the barriers and crossing regulations, putting themselves, other people, passengers on board trains at risk. Often it’s just to save a few seconds of their time”
