The number of passengers choosing to travel with Hull Trains has increased by more than 22%*, leading to the firm’s busiest Sunday since services began 15 years ago.

The company has invested heavily in recent years in delivering exceptional customer service as well as multi-million pound fleet improvements and industry-first initiatives, such as free 4G Single-Sign-Up WIFI and passenger information screens.

As a result, Hull Trains has topped the independent National Rail Passenger Survey for passenger satisfaction for the past two consecutive years at 96% – 16% higher than the average score for long-distance operators.

Will Dunnett, Managing Director of Hull Trains, says: “As a local firm, Hull Trains represents the city of Hull and East Riding region and we’re proud that so many local people are choosing to travel with us. Although we’re a train company, it’s people that matter to us, so we focus on delivering the things that we know are most important to our passengers.”

Although a smaller operator, Hull Trains is one of the most reliable long-distance train operating companies in the UK and boasts an industry-leading, ‘best in class’ Miles per Technical Incident (MTIN) figure of 18,516 MAA (moving annual average) which relates to the overall performance and punctuality of the fleet.

The firm is also seeing particular success outside its Humber heartland with growth in Retford and Grantham of 16% and 17% respectively.

The company anticipates it will achieve its 12th millionth passenger journey before Christmas.
