Police are warning drivers to remove valuables in their cars from sight after three vehicles in Kingswood, north Hull, were broken into.

The thieves took a laptop, presents, an electric drill, books, a handbag and some clothes, all of which had been left on display.

One theft occurred on Kielder Way between 4pm on Sunday and 6.30am on Monday but the stolen items have since been returned.

The two other thefts involved cars parked on driveways.

One happened on Danbury Park between 9pm on Monday and 7am Tuesday, while the other occurred between 10pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday on Brompton Park.

A police spokesman said that even items as seemingly insignificant as an empty bag can be tempting to an opportunist thief.

Police are investigating the crimes and asking anyone with information to call 101, quoting the following crime reference numbers: Danbury Park, 2076953; Brompton Park, 2076922; Kielder Way, 2076840.
