A recruitment firm specialising in construction jobs is to expand into new office in Hull.

Leeds-based Caval will work out of Savill Street’s Norwich House in the city centre. The firm says Hull is central to its plans for expansion across East Yorkshire.

The newly appointed Ellis Branagan will lead Caval’s Hull operation, having had four years in the Hull building recruitment sector. Further jobs in the area are expected to follow.

Caval managing director Graham Hunt said: “We’re confident that the construction sector in Hull and surrounding region will welcome the service we offer clients.

“We considered a number of potential UK sites.

“But Hull is the key city we want to expand into, given the huge investment in it as the City of Culture 2017, the availability of highly-skilled construction workers and the city’s transport links from London and the north.

“The aspirations of Hull as a city closely reflect those of Caval’s – the City of Culture 2017 is a massive achievement and we’re looking forward to being part of that.”

Caval already has other offices in Newcastle and Manchester.
