A proposal to extend a street drinking crackdown in Hull is being considered by councillors today.

Currently, police have special powers in the city centre to fine or prosecute people who refuse to stop drinking or hand over their alcohol.

Plans are now being discussed to expand the Public Spaces Protection Order to cover the Drypool, Myton, Newington and St Andrews wards.

The new zone would take in parts of Hessle Road, Anlaby Road, Spring Bank, Beverley Road and Holderness Road.
