A motorist has been arrested for driving under the influence and speeding on a stretch of motorway in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Police Roads Traffic Unit stopped the driver on the M62 near Goole on Saturday morning.

He was allegedly twice the drink-driving limit, plus was clocked travelling at 121mph with his children in the car.

In England and Wales, the alcohol limit for drivers is 80 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath or 107 milligrammes per 100 millilitres of urine.

The limits in Scotland are lower than the rest of the UK, similar to those in most other European countries.

Humberside Police Roads Traffic Unit tweeted a picture of their speed camera reading shortly afterwards.

It read: “M62 nr Goole. This speeder was twice over the drink drive limit with his little kids in the car! #inthecells”. r! #inthecells”.
