A developer has begun work on a brand new £45 million housing project on the outskirts of Hull earlier than planned.

The first phase of Persimmon Homes’ 340-property Richmond Fields development on the 20-acre site in Kingswood will see the construction of 44 new homes.

The company has advanced its plans for the development because another site in the area, Persimmon Pastures, has proved particularly popular with buyers.

Persimmon Pastures has met with great interest and of the 140 homes built, only a handful are yet to be sold, according to Persimmon Homes Yorkshire sales director Kevin Thubron.

He says the demand for new homes in the north of Hull is so high that the company felt it needed to bring forward the start of the Richmond Fields project.
