The Environment Agency has issued further flood warnings for some coastal areas in East Yorkshire due to expected high tides this evening.

People living in the coastal Kilnsea and Easington areas could see waves going over the sea defences.

An Agency spokesman says the village of Kilnsea is particularly at risk because of a combination of high spring tides and strong winds coming from the south west.

It is thought that the conditions – high waves and wind-blown spray – will be at their most severe in Kilnsea and Easington between 5.15pm and 7pm this evening.

Other locations, such as Spurn Point, Withernsea and Bridlington, could also be affected by the high tides this afternoon and into the evening, but to a lesser extent than Kilnsea and Easington.

It says it will be keeping a close eye on the situation as it progresses and issue further warnings if needed.
