Hull Truck Theatre is offering free tickets to people aged under 26 to see its production of Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis, which runs from February 11 to March 5.

Up to 200 tickets are available to new bookers who are under 26 years old. Click here for more information about Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis.

Ruth Puckering, Hull Truck Theatre director of communications, said: “We recognise that price can be a barrier to young people attending the theatre, especially if it’s something new that they’re not sure they’ll like. We’re keen to develop the arts attendees and audiences of the future, particularly with 2017 less than a year away.

“Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis is a heartfelt comedy about an eccentric family, a birthday party and a Chinese Elvis. It’s a perfect play for a first trip to the theatre, as well as a way to banish the winter blues!”

Hull Truck Theatre is committed to being as accessible as possible and this Try Something New pricing initiative runs alongside its Pay What You Can pricing initiative, which allows audiences to the performance on Thursday, February 11 to pay what they can afford for a ticket.

Terms and conditions:

  • New bookers will be defined as those who are not currently registered on Hull Truck Theatre’s ticketing system.
  • Bookers must be under 26 years old at time of booking. Date of birth required on booking and ID may be required on ticket collection.
  • Two tickets only per booker.
  • Offer applies for Monday – Friday performances of Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis, running from Thursday 11 February until Saturday 5 March.
