A Hull City Council manager is in esteemed company with Sir Richard Branson and Lord Sugar on a list of the top 100 “influencers” in Britain.

Charles Cracknell, the city’s employment and youth enterprise manager, joins some of the most famous entrepreneurs in the country in the Fresh Business Thinking Power’s Top 100 line-up.

Mr Cracknell’s rating puts him in 64th place on the list after a wide range of attributes were considered, including his mentoring, championing, influence on society, engagement with entrepreneurs, promoting entrepreneurship, policy and power.

He says he is passionate about promoting enterprise and both surprised and proud to be on the same list as Sir Richard Branson (2nd) and Lord Sugar (12th).

Mr Cracknell says the business community in Hull is helping him to support the next generation of entrepreneurs in the city and give them opportunities to start their own enterprises.

On top of the list is Prime Minister David Cameron, while Business Secretary Vince Cable (3rd) and new Tory peer Karren Brady (4th) are also rated highly.
