The public are being invited to have their say on the future of Bridlington Quay Conservation Area.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has put out to public consultation its outline management plan and maintenance plan (MMP) for the zone.

The council’s vision for upgrading and supervising the area extends over a 10-year timeframe up to 2026.

Interested parties are being asked to attend a Bridlington (Central) Library drop-in session on Saturday November 21 from 10am. The public then has a further nine days to submit their comments.

Andy Burton, an East Riding councillor with special responsibility for planning, calls Bridlington’s heritage “unique” and this initiative a big stride forward for the town centre’s regeneration.

The MMP, once approved, will develop into a key factor for the area’s monitoring and management. It is likely to be eventually reviewed on a three-yearly basis.

The MMP hopes to remove the area from the Historic England Heritage at Risk register.
