Three creative youngsters are to be given the chance to play a part in Hull’s City of Culture 2017 preparations.

The city’s cultural sector, City Arts and Hull Training have three Community Arts Apprentice vacancies for people between the ages of 16 and 19 to work on live events and promotions at Hull Truck Theatre, Scrapstore and Hull Libraries.

They will discover how to set up and run arts events and activities and work with professional organisations like the Royal Shakespeare Company.

As well as being able to say they helped organise City of Culture events in Hull, they could also receive an Arts Award or similar arts sector qualification that will look good on their CVs.

The youngsters are also likely to be involved in the Creative Voice Youth Arts and Humber Mouth Literature festivals.

The three apprenticeships are currently advertised through the Connexions careers service and applications must be received by Monday, February 16.
