Two men have been arrested in connection with a crash in which a car flipped on to its roof on Beverly Road in Hull at 8.40am yesterday.

The accident occurred when a green Vauxhall Astra with two men in it ploughed into a stationary Volkswagen near to the entrance of Pearson Park.

The Astra ended up on its roof and the driver and passenger fled the scene of the accident.

The police were then called, arriving quickly with an ambulance, and have now traced the men.

The pair have since been caught and arrested on suspicion of motoring offences.

No one was severely injured and very little traffic disruption was caused by the incident on the junction between Beverly Road and Pearson Avenue.

Both vehicles were quickly recovered and the roads are both open as normal today.
