Hull man dies after junction accident

A Hull pedestrian has tragically died, the day after being involved in a road accident at a busy city junction.

The 64-year-old man was pronounced dead by Hull Royal Infirmary’s physicians on Tuesday night. On Monday afternoon, he suffered severe injuries during a collision involving a red-coloured Citroen C4.

The accident happened on the Beverley Road/Sutton Road/Greenwood Avenue junction near The Pilot pub and City of Hull Amateur Boxing Club at 3pm.

He was taken to hospital but sadly died there as a consequences of those injuries.

The area is among the most hectic junctions in the city and the accident happened as many parents would have been travelling to pick up their children from school.

Humberside Police are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident.

The force’s investigating officers want those who can help to ring them on 101. Witnesses can quote 280.
