A 28-year-old West Hull man was arrested last night in connection with the shooting at McDonald’s at St Andrew’s Quay last Saturday.

However, police say they are still searching for 24-year-old Liam Windass, who they describe as may be armed and dangerous.

Superintendent Darren Downs says: “We remain convinced that he is being assisted in evading capture.

“I issue both an appeal and a warning to any associates who might be involved in any way, that they may be placing themselves on the wrong side of the law too, and for them to get in touch with us.”

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday has been released on bail.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Liam Windass is asked to call 999, quoting log number 160 of January 2, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
