Three people who came to the aid of a woman as she was allegedly assaulted on a Hull street are being sought by police.

Officers from Humberside Police have appealed to a man and two women who helped the victim during an incident on Holderness Road on Friday night.

An 18-year-old woman had been allegedly assaulted by a man at a house on Westcott Street before she ran into Holderness Road near The Crown pub.

She was then allegedly attacked again by the man, who is also accused of taking her mobile phone during the incident.

Police would like to speak to an unknown man in a passing car who stopped and asked the woman if she was OK.

Officers are also trying to trace two women not known to the victim who assisted her in the wake of the incident.

Anyone with information should contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 2083619 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of assault, theft and attempted criminal damage following the incident. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.
