Hull residents have been warned to be ready for a programme of road repairs and closures as of next week.

The two-tier work is scheduled for between next Monday, April 27 and May 24.

Hull City Council’s officials have apologised for any nuisance that may arise from this, but said the upgrades will considerably improve the area’s roads for drivers and pedestrians alike.

The carriageway and junction work’s phase one sees repairs to the Anlaby Road/Hawthorn Avenue. Roads will be closed while the three-week work schedule is undertaken from 7.30am to 5.30pm. Diversions will be made via Woodcock Street, St Georges Road and Anlaby Road.

Phase two begins on Saturday, May 16, from 7pm. The Woldcarr Road to Springfield Road carriageway stretch of Anlaby Road will be resurfaced with the road shut for 17 hours.

These repairs are due to finish on Sunday, May 24, with Anlaby Road again closed, this time from 8am to midnight. Traffic will get diverted to Albert Avenue, Spring Bank West, Calvert Lane and other parts of Anlaby Road.

Local residents and companies have already been told of the forthcoming work.
