An event today hopes to reduce the risk of terrorism through changes to the school curriculum.

Humberside Police are holding an event today on how teachers and parents can recognise signs of extremism.

They’re trying to prevent people being drawn in to terrorism in the first place.

It aims to give schools and colleges a greater understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to tackling terrorism, including safeguarding policies and incorporating relevant material into the curriculum.

From July 1st, full time education establishments will have the responsibility to stop people joining extremist groups.
