Inquiry into Hull alleged sexual assault

Humberside Police has launched an investigation following a report of a serious sexual assault in Hull.

The alleged incident took place in the Albert Avenue area of the city around 9.30pm on October 30.

A woman in her 40s was approached from behind by an unknown man as she walked along Albert Avenue. He threatened her with a knife and forced her down an alleyway close to a nearby garage where a serious sexual assault took place.

The victim was not injured in the assault but is currently being supported by a team of specially trained officers.

Humberside Police is appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They would particularly like to hear from the occupants of a car which is known to have been in the Curzon Street area at around 9.30pm.

The man also stole a small amount of cash and a ring. He is described as white with a local accent.
