Kingspan Access Floors will be one of 30 local businesses battling it out for the title of ‘fastest firm’ when its employees take part in the Hull 10K KCOM Corporate Challenge for the first time.

Formed in 1903, the Hull-based company is a world leader in the access flooring sector and supplies and installs access flooring for a variety of uses such as computer rooms, meeting rooms, data processing centres and offices.

Sixteen of its employees will get their running shoes on and join over 460 runners from other local businesses as they tackle the streets of Hull in a bid to be crowned as Corporate Challenge champions.

Rachel Mumford, commercial director at Kingspan, commented: “We are delighted to enter a team for this challenge. Our team name maybe the ‘Kingspan Crawlers’, but don’t be fooled, we have some real competitors within our squad.

“On a serious note, we are very proud to support our two fantastic charities, Dove House Hospice and GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour), whilst enabling people from all areas of our business to join together and take part in this excellent fundraising event.”

Brendon Smurthwaite, KCOM’s community coordinator, added: “It’s great to see so many businesses entering for the first time in 2016 and the number of runners overall continuing to grow year on year.

“The Corporate Challenge brings the business community together and allows them to have fun, network and support local and national charities.”

The KCOM Corporate Challenge forms part of the Jane Tomlinson Run for All 10K taking place around the city’s streets on Sunday, June 19. For more information visit www.runforall.com.
