Man arrested over Hull burglary

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of burglary in Hull.

Officers were alerted to a suspected burglary at a property on Ashworthy Close on the outskirts of the city by a member of the public.

The caller, who rang at 2.57am on 26 March, reported a man acting suspiciously and allegedly trying to force his way into the address. A 39-year-old man was detained at 3.03am and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

In light of the incident, Humberside Police are reminding residents in the region to shut their doors and windows. People in Bridlington should be particularly vigilant following a number of recent burglaries in the town.

Officers are also urging members of the public to come forward if they have information about people responsible for thefts or handling stolen goods. Call 999 in an emergency, 101 in a non-emergency or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
