Man in hospital after serious assault in Hull

An attack in a home in Hull has left a man with serious injuries to his head, the Hull Daily Mail reports.

The 50-something victim is currently at Hull Royal Infirmary following Tuesday evening’s (March 15) incident.

A man, 61, is being detained by police after being arrested on suspicion of assault. The attack happened at 6.24pm in a west Hull home in St Paul Street, which police have cordoned off.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: “Police were called by the ambulance service at 6.24pm yesterday reporting a man in his 50s with serious head injuries at an address in St Paul’s Street, Hull.

“The man has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary and remains in a serious condition. A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault at the address and is still in police custody.

“A police cordon has been put in place at the address. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
