Police are appealing for witnesses after a man threatened three teenagers in Hull with a knife.

Detectives say that 15-year-old Samantha Fewster was on her way to school together with her 13-year-old sister Chloe and her 15-year-old boyfriend when the incident happened on January 9.

The trio, who are pupils at Thomas Ferens Academy in Orchard Park, in the north of the city, stopped briefly at a shop in Greenwood Avenue, with the two girls waiting outside while Samantha’s boyfriend went in.

The sisters noticed that a man was staring at them, and a few moments later he ran up to them and asked “if they wanted to start something” before producing a knife.

The man is described as white, around 30 years old, 6ft tall and slim.

He had yellow, broken teeth and stubble, wore a black top and had a Liverpool FC scarf wrapped around his face.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any other information is asked to call on 101, quoting crime reference 2090688, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
