The Mayor can’t wait for the hotly-anticipated Lord Mayor’s Parade in Hull this Saturday.

Councillor Anita Harrison, installed as the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber at the end of May, will lead the popular event around the city centre.

Around 300 participants, including Councillors and Honorary Aldermen, will join her for the colourful procession.

The parade will leave Princes Dock Street at 1pm and snake its way around the city centre, passing through old town, Whitefriargate, City Hall, Jameson St and arriving in Queen Victoria Square at approximately 2pm.

Cllr Harrison says she’s looking forward to getting out and about on the day to meet the people of Hull.

This year’s theme of ‘Hats off to the Lord Mayor’ means she will also have the extra special job of judging all the creative and unusual hats on display.

Alongside the parade, there will be three performance areas around the city centre – Jameson Street, Queen Victoria Square and Trinity Square – where musicians and dancers will entertain the crowds.
