Hull residents can get free help with their money concerns from next week.

The independent Money Advice Service’s experts are staging a series of Wednesday one-to-ones across two venues between now and the end of June.

The organisation’s specialists can help people decide what’s best for them financially with plenty of top tips to hand.

Hull people have a choice of two meeting places, depending on what time of day they wish to be seen.

They can book morning appointments for Ings Library by ringing 331250 or afternoon ones for the city’s Central Library by calling 616870.

Both locations will host sessions on April 1 and 29 as well as May 27 and June 24.

The service, which launched in 2011, prides itself on helping consumers manage their cash better.

John Hewitt, a Hull city councillor with special responsibilities for communities and neighbourhoods, said the advice sessions are among the opportunities locals can access to make their cash go further.

He said that the service offers impartial, easy-to-understand advice for people needing to talk about their finances.
