Motown’s Greatest Hits – How Sweet It Is, a tribute show to classic Motown, arrives at Hull City Hall on Saturday 23rd January, celebrating and recreating all the wonderful vibes and music that originated in Detroit in the late 1950s.

A performance of hits from The Four Tops, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, The Isley Brothers, The Jackson’s, Stevie Wonder, Edwin Starr and many more, Motown’s Greatest Hits – How Sweet It Is takes you on a musical journey through the golden Tamla Motown days of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

In 1959, Berry Gordy Jnr had a dream, and with a loan of $800 he started Motown records in Detroit. In the 60s the production and songwriting talents of Dozier and Holland dominated the Detriot sound, and they both penned and produced numerous hits for The Four Tops, and many more artists of the day. The hits continued throughout the subsequent decades as Motown became a genre of music all of its own, and had people dancing all over the world.

This show is an evening crammed full of all your Motown favourites, such as Reach Out I’ll Be There, Walk Away Renee, I Cant Help Myself, Going Loco in Acapulco, My Girl, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, and Get Ready, to name but a few.

Our five fantastic vocalists, Michael, Martell, Delroy, Geo and Jordan are also trained dancers, with their choreography set to leave you breathless!

Tickets for Motown’s Greatest Hits – How Sweet It Is are priced at £21.00 and are on sale now. They will be available for purchase from www.hcandl.co.uk/hullcityhall from the Hull City Hall booking office or by calling the Booking and Information Line on 01482 300300.
