The MP for Hull North raised concerns over the remarks about homosexuality made by a Hull vicar within Parliament.

Speaking in Parliament today, MP Diana Johnson condemned the remarks made by Reverend Melvin Tinker, comparing homosexuality to paedophilia.

She gained support from both the Leader and Speaker of the House of Commons who said homosexuality should not be morally equated to paedophilia.

The full exchange reads:

Diana Johnson, Hull North MP –

“During the course of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, Rev. Melvin Tinker in Hull told me that if I supporter it, he would instruct his congregation not to vote for me. That might have something to do with why my majority went from 641 to 12,899. However, this weekend the Rev Tinker has equated homosexuality within the same category as paedophilia. May we please have a debate in Government time about the responsibilities of the established Church of England around community cohesion and not inciting crimes of hate?”

Chris Grayling, Leader of the Houses of Commons –

“First, let us be absolutely clear: there is absolutely no connection whatever between homosexuality and paedophilia. Paedophilia is a crime; homosexuality is a reality of our society and something we have moved to support through same-sex marriage and other changes in recent years. It is never acceptable to equate the two.

“I would also say that it is important to be sensitive about these issues, as we were during the passage of the Act, particularly in relation to those with strong religious views. We are, and we should be, but there is never any justification for equating homosexuality to paedophilia.”

Mr Speaker of the House of Commons –

“The misguided Reverend is obviously rather a blinkered fellow, to put it mildly.”

Comes as no surprise that the socialist , Diana.Johnson,or Chris. Grayling’s comments, because if ASHERS bakery in Northern .Ireland were persecution of Christians is in progress, makes a nonsense of what he says. Nor should the Christian ministers be intimidated by Diana. Johnson’s veiled threats of persecution.Rev Ray. Blake ,said something to the affect he can see something akin to the Nuremburg race laws of 1935 being brought in.David. Cameron ,Bullington club barbarian has started the ball rolling with so-called same sex marriage. Hostile civil authorities, which harass. We need to start looking at the …expense accounts!.
