Today is National Sandwich Day. We spoke with Samba Catering to find out more about their delicious sandwiches.

Whether you’re after something tasty for your dinner, jumping on a train to travel somewhere new, or heading out to an exciting function, sandwiches are a great staple food. We all have our preferences too. Some prefer to stick to a classic combination, or perhaps try something more adventurous.

Samba Catering was established in 2006 and is a family-run catering service based in Hull. Since opening, the company has gone from strength-to-strength and is continuously growing.

And it’s no wonder. Their reliable, honest service provides tasty, ethically-sourced, locally-produced nibbles to schools, colleges, universities, public transport companies, petrol stations and shops across the region.

“We have a wide range of clients, from Hull Trains, to family christenings and weddings, and most of the race courses in the north of England,” Operations Manager Nick Biggs tells us.

The team of eighteen are always happy to help and no order is too big or too small.

“If people need sandwiches in a hurry, we’ll have them ready within the hour, which is quite unique for a catering business of our size,” he enthuses.

The core menu includes pre-packed sandwiches, which can be filled with almost anything that you ask for. Meanwhile, they also do paninis, wraps and salads, as well as general buffet items.

“We’ve just begun catering for birthdays and family functions, as well as the corporate side, which has been going great so far.”

Samba Catering are keen to suit all budgets with their penny-saving Food2Go option; your business or organisation can enjoy the perks of grabbing a sandwich, without the hefty price tag.

Their buffets also come with three price tiers: Peckish at £3.95 a head, Hungry at £4.95 per person, and Feed Me! at just £5.95. As well as their celebrated sandwiches, these packages include chicken skewers, sausage rolls, mini pies, bagels, crisps, pizza slices, quiches and Scotch eggs.

What’s more, Samba sandwiches can be entirely tailored to suit you and your guests’ taste buds:

“We are passionate about catering for different dietary requirements, whether you need a gluten-free option, vegan or vegetarian. On top of this, every piece of chicken is 100% breast meat and Halal approved.” Nick explains.

“Also, Samba Catering is Safe and Local Supplier Approved (SALSA). We’re very big into ethically sourcing all of our products and ingredients. Our tuna is guaranteed dolphin-friendly.”

Along with their sustainable ethics, the Samba team pride themselves on providing their clients with quality customer service: “Although we are expanding, we still maintain a high standard of service for our customers. We want to retain our local feel and for customers to come back again and again.”
