Amateur photographers from across East Yorkshire have captured the county at work, rest and play for a competition.

Capturing The East Riding Photography Competition has seen 165 keen snappers submit 450 entries.

Beverley races, the scooter rally at Bridlington, the steam rally at Driffield and the folk festival at Beverley have all been caught on film.

The winner will be chosen next month, with the top 100 prints being displayed at venues around the region throughout the year.

Catch the pictures at the art gallery in Beverley, the art centre in Pocklington, Bridlington’s Spa Gallery and Goole Museum.

You can also get a sneak preview of some of the images, which were taken in line with the theme of work, rest and play, by clicking .

Entries also feature a wide range of settings depicting local scenes such as farming, the countryside and the coast.

The East Riding Cultural Partnership’s chair, Hilary Saynor, called some of the entries truly remarkable.
