Humberside Police wants to hear from anyone who saw a man being robbed outside a pub on National Avenue in Hull shortly after 5am on Tuesday morning.

The 30-year-old man was heading for the shops and was near The National pub at 5.05am when another man threatened him. He refused to give the man money and his mobile phone before being punched to the ground.

Soon afterwards another man joined in the assault before stealing the victim’s wallet and keys. They ran off and it is thought they got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

The man who was assaulted has cuts and bruises to his face and body but he wasn’t seriously hurt.

Police are keen to trace the both men. They do not have a description of the second assailant but the first man is said to be white, between the ages of 34 and 37, 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build. He had a black sports jacket on.

Anyone who thinks they know who the assailants are or saw the attack is asked to contact Humberside Police on the 101 non-emergency number with crime number 2085364 or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
