Humberside Police are investigating a break-in at a Hull church in which sound equipment and money was stolen.

They want to hear from anyone who knows anything about the burglary at Hull’s Church of Ascension on Calvert Road on Monday of last week (September 21).

The offence took place sometime between 4pm and 9.30pm and the thief used a church side door to gain entry.

They took sound equipment worth an estimated £5,000, as well as a small amount of cash from a church cupboard, which is used to store social events administration, before making off.

The Force wants to hear from possible witnesses who may have been in the West Hull area at the time and seen the break-in.

They also want to talk to anyone who might know anything about where the equipment is now. Informants can ring anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Alternatively, they can also ring 101 and quote 2140434, the crime’s special reference number.
