Police searching for a missing cyclist have found the body of a man in a Hull drain.

They made the discovery at Holderness Drain, near East Hull’s Holderness Road, on Wednesday.

Robert Harrison, 46, of Bilton Grange, who normally goes everywhere by bike, had been reported missing two days earlier.

Police have not yet identified the body, which was found by their diving team at 3pm following an extensive search. They are not treating the death as suspicious.

Mr Harrison, who works at Leads Road’s Kingstown Furniture, had left his bike at home and has not been into work this week.

The amateur cyclist was last seen at Western Gailes Way’s Royal Charter pub on Saturday November 8.

He was reported missing at 10.30pm on Monday after friends and family had not heard from him after four days.
