Proposed plans for the redevelopment of Hull’s historic St Andrews Dock would include a memorial for those who used to work there.

New plans have been put forward to redevelop St Andrews Dock in Hull.

The plan incorporates the Lord Line building and would include a memorial for those who worked on the historic docks.

Local businessman John Levison and Andrew Fenton from InterTech are the men behind the proposal.

They want to keep Hull’s history at the heart of the project.

Andrew Fenton believes the redevelopment could bring tourism to the city:

“This last quarter of the dock is very visible from the A63. It encompasses Hull’s maritime connection. So we want to look at the area, not just being related to finishing but broaden the range of everything to do with Hull’s connection with the sea.”

Mr Fenton also thinks that offering a visitor attraction would help to keep users of the port in the city:

“This is the difficulty with the port, either people leave from it, or go to it” and believes that this will be good for the local economy.
