The Preston Road regeneration project is due to reach a milestone as the first residents are set to move into the newly developed buildings on Ganstead Grove.

Residents are being invited to attend an event on Monday December 15 along with councillors and regeneration partners to mark the scheme’s progress.

They are also being offered the chance to attend two meetings to find out more about the refurbishment and plans for new buildings.

These will be held on January 10 between 10am and 2pm and January 15 between 10am and 7pm at the Freedom Centre on Preston Road.

Local businesses interested in training, jobs and sub-contracting are also invited to the meetings.

Councillor John Black, who is responsible for infrastructure at Hull City Council, said it is an “exciting” time for the area, adding that the council has “made a real commitment” to turn it into a “priority neighbourhood”.

He added that he is “delighted” to celebrate “the tremendous progress” achieved so far.
