Motorists and bus passengers in Hull city centre are facing two weeks of disruption after Albion Street was closed for essential maintenance work to be carried out.

Hull City Council is undertaking carriageway resurfacing works to Albion Street and Prospect Street until Saturday, October 10.

Council officials say it is necessary to put a full road closure in place to ensure the safety of the public and construction operatives.

Traffic is being diverted via Baker Street, Union Street, Bond Street, George Street and Freetown Way.

There will also be a one-day closure in place on Sunday, October 11 at the junction of Prospect Street/Albion Street, and diversion routes will be in place via Baker Street, Union Street and Bond Street, according to the council.

EYMS has revised its bus services, which will not stop at Albion Street or Bond Street for the duration of the roadworks.
